Southgate Rebuilds for Major Tournament
New Faces Feature in Reshuffled Side
Manager Gareth Southgate has named his final England men's senior squad for UEFA Euro 2024. The squad features a mix of experienced players and exciting new faces as Southgate looks to rebuild the team following a disappointing World Cup campaign.
Among the new faces in the squad are Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham and Manchester City defender Rico Lewis. Both players have impressed at club level this season and will be hoping to make a mark on the international stage.
Southgate's squad will depart for Germany later on Monday before their first group game against Croatia on June 14. England will also face Scotland and the Czech Republic in Group D.
Southgate said he was "excited" about the squad he had selected and believes they have the potential to do well at Euro 2024.
"We have a good mix of experience and youth in the squad, and I think we have the quality to go far in the tournament," he said.
"We know it will be a tough challenge, but we are confident in our ability to perform well and make the country proud."
